From March 7th to 9th 2016, the group of researchers from University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMass) consists of Dr. Jeroan J. Allison- Vice Chair of Department of Quantitative Health Sciences and colleagues paid a visit and worked with partners in Vietnam as part of “We Talk About Our Hypertension” project. During the same time, the researchers visited General Department of Preventive Medicine – Ministry of Health, Hanoi School of Public Health, Hanoi Medical University and Vietnam National Heart Institute – Bach Mai Hospital to strengthen relationship for future collaboration.
On March 8th 2016, the specialists visited and exchanged experiences on management and treatment for Hypertension patients at health centre in Van Lam district, Hung Yen province and talked to patients at 02 selected districts in the project (Viet Hung commune – Van Lam district and Bach Sam commune – My Hao district – Hung Yen province).
During the meeting, they were really impressed and delighted when receiving all the positive feedback on patients participated in the project. All patients feel pleased when joining the project, one even said “Thank you for bringing the project to us, thank you for bringing me back to life.” Grateful for the effectiveness of the project, patients are willing to follow instructions and experiences from successful patients given in the DVD.
